What is the PowerIndex (PwrIndx)?
The finalized Vijeron ranking utilizes over 60 individual factors to determine a given nation's PowerIndex ('PwrIndx') score. Categories range from quantity of military units and financial standing to logistical capabilities and geography.
Our unique, in-house formula allows for smaller, though more technologically advanced, nations to compete with larger, lesser-developed powers. Special modifiers, in the form of bonuses and penalties, are applied to further refine the finalized list which is compiled annually.
A perfect PwrIndx score is 0.0000, which is realistically unattainable in the scope of the Vijeron formula. The smaller the PwrIndx value, the more powerful that nation's conventional fighting capability is recognized to be.

Key Pillars of the Vijeron Evaluation
- Conventional Forces Focus: Nuclear stockpiles are NOT directly scored in the numeric hardware count, though recognized nuclear status receives indirect strategic influence.
- Geographical Factors: Landlocked nations are NOT penalized for lacking a standing navy branch; however, nations with vast coastlines lacking naval defenses receive defensive penalties.
- Logistical & Natural Resources: Oil production, consumption, proven reserves, port throughput, and usable runway facilities are heavily factored into prolonged wartime sustainability.
- Manpower Depth: Total population, available workforce, working age demographics, and active/reserve military troop capacity.
- Financial Health: Total declared defense budget, purchasing power parity (PPP), external national debt, and liquid foreign exchange reserves.
- Alliance Standing: NATO alliance standing and regional bilateral defense treaties afford slight logistical and defensive modifier bonuses.
